Our Method

At Saya Psychotherapy, we understand that every individual is unique and therefore requires an individualized approach to their care. That is why we offer a diverse range of therapeutic modalities to meet our clients' specific needs. Our trained therapists are trained in modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing (SE). By utilizing these different modalities, our therapists are able to tailor client’s treatment plans and interventions to address a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. To us, holistic care does not focus on diagnosing but rather prioritizing symptom relief, personal growth, and overall well-being.

  • Clinicians at Saya Psychotherapy often utilize attachment focused modalities to support clients in examining early childhood experiences. Through this, clients can get a better understanding of how their attachment style was formed and how it may be impacting their current relationships. Through this process, clients can learn to identify their attachment needs and work towards developing more secure attachment patterns. The use of attachment based modalities can be extremely helpful for clients struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. It can help them develop a deeper self-awareness and emotional regulation that can improve their overall well-being.

  • At Saya Psychotherapy, we prioritize a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy. We firmly believe that thoughts are not inherently wrong or bad; rather, it is our interpretation and response to these thoughts that impact our well-being. Through collaborative exploration and evidence-based techniques, we work together with clients to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and construct more adaptive thoughts, without shaming or labeling any thoughts as 'wrong.'

  • Many of our clinicians use Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a primary modality in their work. The IFS model encourages individuals to view their inner world as comprising of numerous parts, each with their own distinct experiences, beliefs, emotions. Through compassionate dialogue and internal exploration, we can help these parts feel seen, heard, and validated.

  • At Saya Psychotherapy, we offer somatic experiencing therapy as an approach to help clients heal from trauma. Somatic experiencing therapy acknowledges that trauma is not only a cognitive experience, but also a physical one. This approach focuses on helping clients to increase their awareness of their bodily sensations to release the physical sensations stored in the body as a result of trauma. Through this approach, clients learn how to regulate their nervous system, process and release their trapped emotions, and ultimately integrate and heal from their traumatic experiences.
